We Believe in Wise Stewardship

Thanks to a balanced operational structure that allows the Schuylkilll Y to offset fundraising expenses with revenues from membership and programs fees, 100% of contributed dollars go directly to their intended purposes. The structure has been one of the organization’s greatest strengths since its inception.

We Believe in Meaningful Change

The YMCA policy is that no child, adult or family is turned away for inability to pay. We provide tens of thousands of dollars in financial aid every year. When you give to the Y you become part of the fabric of the community through:

  • One strong organization that serves diverse communities with diverse programs throughout the county
  • Partnerships with school districts and partner organizations throughout the county
  • Over 250 children who each year are part of programs as diverse as Youth and Government, early enrichment, healthy eating, swimming, summer camp, and more
  • More than 80 classes and events throughout the year in which our members work toward a healthy life and stronger relationships

 

We Believe in Making a Difference

Each year, hundreds of volunteers throughout our community contribute their time to the local Y. More than 200 people come through our doors every day and over 50 staff work to provide services year-round. Community Services

At the Y, building a strong community begins at home. The Schuylkill Y helps young people develop cultural competencies, diverse populations connect to the community, and individuals gain access to life-changing resources and support. As an interconnected community network, the Y has the resources and solutions to build bridges and make our changing communities stronger.

Social Services

To bring about meaningful change, people need ongoing encouragement and tools. The YMCA is here day-in and day-out to provide the resources every community needs to address the most pressing social issues, including child welfare, education and public health. The Y works both nationally and here at home to make sure every child, family and community has what they need to achieve their best.

Volunteering and Giving

The generosity of others is at the core of our existence. It is only through the support of our thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to give back to the communities we serve.
